A common question with customers after they purchase, is when and how will my blinds be installed?
Once your order has been submitted to Hunter Douglas and we have a good idea of when they will arrive, we’ll call you to book an installation time. We general try to give a 2-3 day window between when we expect your blinds to arrive and when your installation date is.
What we used to do, was wait until all your blinds had arrived, then book the installation date. This was great for us, but not so great for you. We usually book our installers appointments 2-3 weeks in advance. So if we are waiting to actually receive your blinds before booking the installation date, it will be another 2-3 weeks before they are actually installed.
So we started booking the installations ahead of time. But one of the main problems with this, is that our blind manufactures can get delayed. With Maxxmar, manufacturing delays can extend a 3 week ship time to a 5 week ship time. And lets say we booked your installation date for 4 weeks from now, but we don’t have the blinds to install when your installation date comes.
We then have to reschedule the appointment and just not the best situation.
Fortunately this isn’t that common.
For our actual installation times, we schedule a time, like 9am. Then we say that it could be +1 or -1 hour. Sometime installations go faster than scheduled. Other times they take much longer.
If there is a major delay, we will call you to let you know ahead of time. After every installation, we call our installer and check up on how everything is going. This lets us know how they are progressing, and inform any other customers had their schedule has been effected.
